Welcome to Lewes Swimming Club.

Your club is run entirely by approximately 50 volunteers and managed by a committee elected at our Annual General Meeting (AGM). Without them, there would be no club. If you have a query or suggestion, please refer in the first instance to this website which contains a wealth of information and a ‘contact us’ form. Alternatively, please contact any pool organiser or a member of the Club’s Committee (all of whose contact details can be found on the notice boards at each pool, in our regular newsletter and on this website)

Your club encourages all parents to also become club members, volunteer/help in any way they can and attend/vote at the AGM. The club may be prepared to subsidise those prepared to attend recognised courses leading to qualification as a teacher, coach or Swim England official. In return, we will expect a firm commitment from those who have so qualified to help at poolside and/or officiate at galas etc. for a minimum period of two years. Members who assist the club in this way receive a free weekly swimming session for one of their children. Further details are available from the Club Secretary or any other committee member.

A copy of the Club’s constitution and rules is supplied to new members, who must agree in writing to be bound by them or, in the case of members aged under 18, their parent/guardian must sign. A joining fee and the current term's pool fees are payable upon joining the club. Subsequent terms’ pool fees are payable during the first week of each term, failing which a late payment surcharge will apply and swimmers may be denied access to the pool until payment is made.

Finally, we hope that swimmers and parents will take pride in the club, promote its interests and maintain its good record. We aim to develop a love of swimming, encourage all swimmers to reach their potential and, above all, enjoy the sport.

We strive to achieve the objectives of Swim England:

‘to promote the teaching and practice of swimming …. and stimulate public opinion in favour of providing proper accommodation and facilities…..’
